The first Namibian Stock Exchange was founded in Lüderitz, southern Namibia at the start of the 1900s, because the diamond rush brought hundreds of prospectors to the desert whom built towns.[1] After a few years, the exchange closed when the diamond rush ended.[1]
The current Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX) was started on September 30, 1992, upon which trading began the next day.[1] It is the only stock exchange in Namibia.
